Product of the week #2 Decleor Prolegene Energising Gel

Who doesn’t love a multipurpose product? Hands up who owns an Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour cream, a lip and cheek stain, tinted moisturiser or even a tin of Vaseline?  As you are here reading my blog it’s probably fair to assume that you spend some of your hard earned pennies on beauty products and in my eyes, if you
can buy just one product that does the job of three or four then the cost is all the more justifiable! That’s why my product of the week this week is the Prolagene Energising Gel from Decleor, which can be used on your face and body to help revitalise and tone your skin, and to reduce the appearance of imperfections that come with age, stress, tiredness and tension.

The formulation is a light refreshing gel containing essential oils and the active ingredients necessary to reconstruct collagen within the skins deep tissues (namely L-Proline). As collagen is a main component of the support structure of the skin, using this product has a firming and toning effect. It also encourages the skins renewal process so helps to reduce the appearance of blemishes and scars.

Fortunately for me I don't suffer from blemish prone skin and don't have any visible scar marks so I am not able to comment on how well it performs in this area but I have still found many uses that I absolutely love this product for:

I use it mixed in with my night cream which helps to tone the skin and improve the texture, you can also apply a thicker layer of it as a mask and leave it on for about 15 minutes to increase the benefits.

It is a fantastic under eye treatment that cools and de-puffs the area, especially if you keep it in the fridge – it really wakes up tired eyes in the morning! It also feels amazing after sun exposure when it has been stored in the fridge and applied on a damp cotton wool pad, on my honeymoon this summer I used it on my face and all over the body after each day in the sun before applying after sun and moisturisers.

I also used it religiously on my neck and décolletage alongside the Aromessence Sculpt firming body concentrate in the run up to my wedding and saw and felt a huge improvement in the texture of my skin and the fine lines I have due to being a sun worshiper. My skin began to feel firmer after about two weeks of daily application.

And if those uses are not enough to tempt you then how about the following?

Prolagene gel is suitable for use during pregnancy to help keep stretch marks at bay and diminish the appearance of existing stretch marks. It can be used on children above the age of 3 on chicken pox scars, in fact it can be used on any scaring and claims that continual use for a minimum of 3 months gives unbeatable results! And finally as this product was originally formulated in a burns unit in France, it can be used to heal, cool and soothe burns. Phew!

It retails for £36 for 150ml from the decleor website so it’s not cheap but it is such a useful product to have I think it’s worth every penny!

Have any of you used this? I’d love to know what you think of it.
