Product of the week #3 Avene Thermal Spring Water

French skincare brands are beginning to cause a stir in the beauty world, and from my experiences so far, with good reason.
This is one of those products that people might overlook, thinking that its just water in a can and a bit of a waste of money! Well yes, in some ways it is just water in a can, but it is so much more than that as well.

Eau Thermale Avène is a unique French dermo-cosmetic brand formulated with Avene thermal spring water which has a low mineral content which makes it suitable for sensitive skin, it is rich in silica and trace elements which is soothing for the skin and has an almost neutral PH of 7.5 so doesn't burn or sting. Avene thermal spring water has been clinically proven to be naturally soothing, anti-irritating and anti-free radical and therefor Avene products are suitable for even the most sensitive, reactive or irritated skin.

I got my first bottle of this in the summer to take on my honeymoon because i thought it would be refreshing after sun exposure but i have since found its a really useful thing to have and carry one of the small sizes in my bag and have another in my bathroom cabinet!

You might have noticed by now that i love a good multipurpose product, especially when it's reasonably priced and that is why this is my product of the week this week. I picked it up from Boots where a 50ml can is £3.15 or a 150ml can is £6.50.

My skin can feel really tight after i shower or swim and i find that spraying a fine mist of this refreshes the skin on my face and stops it from feeling uncomfortable. I like to have this with me so if during the day my skin starts to feel tight from the cold weather and central heating i can spray it directly over my makeup and my husband has been loving it to sooth his skin after shaving and reduce razor burn!

As Avene products are specifically formulated for use on sensitive skin this water spray is suitable for use on children's skin, for example to sooth nappy rash or cool them down if they have a temperature, and it can be used on skin complaints such as eczema and psoriasis.

Have any of you tried this? Do you use it for anything i haven't mentioned?
