Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum

This review is of a antioxidant hydrating skin serum from Australian brand Aesop. They make hair, skin and body products containing plant based ingredients with antioxidant properties. I was was really looking forward to getting my hands on this product after reading about the brand and seeing other Aesop products
being raved about in the blogging world. I really wanted to love it it, however...

it has to be the most love-hate product I have come ever across and i'll tell you why. I love the results that it achieves but i hate the smell! I literally can't stand it, and i can't bear to put it on my face which is why i am offering it up tomorrow when i meet my friends to do a bit of product swapping (like a book club but with beauty products and wine!)

However, don't let this put you off because if you like the smell, its a great product. Its a concentrated moisturising serum  that contains loads of antioxidant goodness to hydrate and care for the skin. It is aloe vera based which is amazing on dehydrated skin, and the texture is quick thick but is instantly absorbed into the skin with absolutely no greasy residue - a big positive. I love the fact that Aesop products contain so many natural ingredients but i guess the smell is part and parcel of that, to me it smells like aniseed which will be the parsley seed element, so if your a fan of Ouzo or fennel you will like it! But i just don't, and i have really tried!

I'd love to know if any of you have tried this or any other Aesop products and what your thoughts are, it hasn't put me off the brand because for the time i was forcing myself to trial it i really did like the results on my skin so i will definitely pick up something else to try out soon, if you have any recommendations please let me know.

  3. that looks incredibly fancy. I've been meaning to try a product like this, and I agree when you say you shouldn't let a bad smell put you off a good product. a MAC foundation of mine stank but I persevered and it's a great product :)

  5. Ah, I hate it when you find a nice product but can't stand the smell. I think I'm having a similar issue with this Green People cleansing balm. The Aesop mandarin hydrating cream is a lovely product! It has a subtle zesty scent but it disappears quickly. :)
