Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow Review

With less than a week to go until the launch of Bobbi Browns new Long-wear cream shadow sticks which I am very excited about, I thought it might be a good time to share my love of the original Long Wear Cream Eye Shadows.

This multi award winning product has a permanent place in my makeup collection along with the Bobbi Brown Cream Shadow Brush which is pretty essential as the product is not very accessible with fingers!

They don’t use the Long-Wear title loosely at Bobbi Brown and this product does not budge once it has dried on your skin. It is water proof, smudge proof and quite frankly, pretty fool proof! The formula has just enough slip to blend out easily but has a thick velvety texture allowing some control when applying the colour. The more shimmery shades can either be worn as a sheer wash of colour or layered for a more dramatic finish, whereas the matte shades give a fully opaque coverage with just one layer.

The 3 shades I have currently are: Galaxy, a deep silver shimmer which is personally my favourite of the whole line and is reminiscent of MAC’s Satin Taupe. Sandy Gold which is a pale golden beige and Bone, a matte off white. Both of these make fantastic base colours in place of an eye primer to give your eye shadow a few more hours of crease free wear time. I used Bone all over my eyelid and up to my brow bone as a base for my eye shadow on my wedding day because I knew it would stay put!

The colour range is, as usual for Bobbi Brown, very wearable with lots of natural easy to wear shades as well as a few braver more dramatic colours. I have my eye on Cement which is a shade I already have in the powder form that I love for filling in my brows which I think it would be a perfect everyday eye shade as well.
For me these are the leaders of the pack when it comes to cream eye shadows although if you are looking for a lower budget option the Maybelline Expression Colour Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadows also have great staying power and only cost £4.99 from Boots

The Bobbi Brown cost £18 each and the Cream shadow brush is £23 from Bobbi Brown counters or their website. I can’t wait to see if the shadow sticks live up to these as I think being in a stick form might make application that little bit easier… I will let you know when I have tried them!

Have any of you tried these? What are your favourite Bobbi Brown products?
