Guest Post all the way from Washington DC!

Hi everyone,

I'm so happy to guest blog for On The Dressing Table and even happier that I get to reach London/UK readers and say a BIG HELLO to the loyal On The Dressing Table fans! I love her blog as much as you do ;)

This post is kind of an international exchange as Anna's blog post on her awesome "Cheeky" review will be featured on my blog www.stylebypatty.com/blog for Monday (8am America time). Let's call it a "fashion/beauty blogger's exchange" on all things style, fashion & beauty!

I decided to do this post a little different and let the background be my accessory to my causal weekend outfits. This weekend was A) gorgeous B) warm, FINALLY and C) the beginning to the Cherry Blossom festival here in Washington DC. There was so much to see and do and I never miss an opportunity to enjoy blue skies and sunshine.

The first place I headed to on Saturday was Mount Vernon (aka George Washington's house) with my hubby, puppy and friends. Ok, let's get the obvious out of the way, my pup's name is Bradford, he's a puggle, pretty arrogant and a big deal lol. The home you see behind me is George Washington's house that sits on the most beautiful property in the entire state of Virginia. I highly recommend that anyone visiting the US and headed for the Washington DC area make a trip to Mount Vernon. It's absolutely beautiful all year round! You will be walking for a while so I suggest a casual, comfortable BUT CUTE (cause it's scenic and you will take tons of pictures) outfit be planned out. I went with coral coloured, rhinestone flats from Forever 21, leggings, v neck shirt and purse from Wet Seal and jacket from Charlotte Russe.

Sunday was another beautiful day to walk around the city and people watch at some of the most historic sites in DC. The great thing about DC is that most of the major sites are in walking distance from each other so you can cover a lot of ground in one afternoon.
Of course no visit to The National Mall is complete without visiting the Lincoln Memorial. For my afternoon stroll I wore a light cotton pull over shirt from Old Navy, jeans from Forever 21, shoes and purse from Wet Seal (surprise) and the necklaces were hand made gifts from friends in Asia and South America.

Next up you have a great shot of me (haha kidding!) of the Reflecting Pond, WW2 Memorial, the Washington Monument and Capital Hill.

Leaving the best for last, um yea that's the White House behind me! What a background huh? Washington DC really is a great place to visit!

I hope you guys liked my stylized mini tour of the great historic sites of America's capital. If you are planning on visiting some day or want to see what Bradford and I will be up to, you can follow me on Twitter at @stylebypatty.
