Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation Review in 101 Classic Ivory

It's been a really long time since i bought a 'drugstore' foundation. Having combination skin means it can be difficult to find a foundation that does the job well, in particular, something that will last on my skin without looking really dry and cakey and i tend to stick to my high-end favourites. However, Rimmel have really been hitting the mark with there latest releases so when i was making the most of the recent 3 for 2 across all brands in Boots i swatched this on my hand and was instantly impressed by the formula so i thought i'd bring it home and give it a road test. Well, all i can say is, i'm glad i did.
Match perfection is a light perfecting radiance foundation that gives medium coverage and a natural satin finish. It is buildable and i find it covers the redness in my cheeks really well. It also lasts really well on the skin, If i powder it i get a good 5-6 hours of wear without needing to touch up. The thing that has impressed me most about this foundation is the finish it gives, which is that perfect second-skin look.  It reminds me a lot of MAC Studio Sculpt although the product is slightly runnier but it blends out really well. It evens out skin tone and has the perfect balance between matte and dewy in that it doesn't give you the sweaty glowy look but isn't so matte that you resemble a mannequin!
I got shade 101 Classic ivory which is a great match for my pale winter complexion as you can see above. All in all i think this is another brilliant product from Rimmel and its definitely made me reassess my views on high street foundation. It won't replace my high-end foundations but has a well earned place alongside them
Match Perfection retails for £6.99. What a bargain!
Have any of you tried this? Did you like it? What are your favourite highstreet/drugstore foundations?
Thanks for reading, Anna x
