Ten Things About Us

Love is the best. Its something we all experience in many different ways throughout our lives from the unconditional love of our parents to the adoration of pets, the unrequited love of our youth and the enduring, i-cant-live-without-you love that comes with finding your soul mate.
Falling in love can be the most exhilarating, exciting experience, only bettered by the love that come from a secure, committed partnership, and it is this love that i felt inspired to write about after reading Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter's latest post which you can find here
If you don't already know of Louise and her blog & YouTube videos you really need to check them out, she's one of the most genuine girls on YouTube and is hilarious to boot. Anyway, i digress. In the wake of the atrocities in the news this week i think there couldn't be a better time to take a minute and be grateful for the love you have in your life, whatever form that comes in. This is mine.

We met in a bar in our home town where he was the DJ and i worked behind the bar but i thought he was too young for me and he had a trendy haircut! We met again a while after and he had shaved his head: the rest is history.

Our first day of married life was 6 years to the day that we went on our first date This was after getting engaged on a beach in Portugal at night time on our 5 year anniversary. We did plan to get married in Portugal but it didn't happen for various reasons, we went back for our honeymoon and hope to one day have a little vow renewal ceremony out there.

We regularly have the conversation about what we'll do when we win the lottery, it usually ends with an argument over how much money he will be allowed to spend on cars!

We met on the 13th of July. Unlucky for some but very lucky for us.

One of our favorite things to do together is travel abroad and we've been to lots of place in Europe including France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and The Netherlands. America is next on our hit list and our ultimate dream is to live in Portugal.

We got our first Dog Digsy after 2 years together, he was one of the best decisions we have ever made. We then got Elsa 2 years later to keep Digsy company, but for the first 6 weeks he hated her and used to run upstairs so she would follow and then leave her stranded up there because she was too little to get back down the stairs!

In nearly 7 years we have lived in 5 different houses.... I HATE moving house!

We're both night owls which doesn't bode well for when we have kids....

One day we would love to be able to build our own house. It will have a walk in wardrobe/dressing room (me) and a detached garage with room for loads of cars (Jim) and preferably some sort of device so we can communicate between the two!

We both love music. We don't have one particular song that is 'our song' but there are quite a few that have special meaning for us and that make us smile when we hear them like The Smiths - There is a Light That Never Goes Out, The Police - Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, Hall & Oates - You Make My Dreams Come True, Queen - You're my Best Friend and Plan B - Love Goes Down which was our first dance.

I hope you enjoyed this little insight, i definitely enjoyed writing it and reminding myself of how lucky i am. It is so easy to take our loved ones for granted but as has been proven this week, we should make the most of every moment we have with them because we really don't know what the future holds.
Thanks for reading,
Anna x
