April Favourites

Hi guys, can you believe its May already??! I can't, summer will be upon us before we know it - yay! I'm definitely a happier person when the sun is shining, especially if i'm in a foreign country.

So here's a little round up of the products i've been loving in April. First up is Nick Chavez Beverley Hills Plump 'N Thick Leave in Thickening Mist with Collagen. This was in a recent Birchbox and i'm so glad to have found it because its by far the best volumising product i've ever used. A few sprays on towel-dry hair before blow drying and my hair has amazing volume with absolutely no trace of product at all. It isn't sticky, it doesn't weigh the hair down or feel tacky and it really does work - what more could you want!

I wrote about the Baies Candle from Dityque here and it has made its way into my monthly favourites because it's just such a lovely uplifting scent for spring. As you can tell form the pics, this one is nearly finished because i have been burning it pretty much everyday. Next up is The Pro-Radiance Hand and Nail Cream from Elemis Sp@ home. I keep this by my bed and in April i was reaching for it a lot because had some dry skin around my nails that kept catching and turning into those horrible sore bits. Despite having more than 10 in my stash i'm not the biggest hand cream fan; i hate that greasy residue a lot of them leave and end up having to wash my hands which pretty much defeats the purpose! As always though, Elemis have produced an amazing product that really works. The Pro-radiance hand cream softens and moisturises my hands without leaving any greasiness - it is almost instantly absorbed, and because of this i keep using it which is great news for my hands. We apply products to our face everyday to slow down the ageing process but i think sometime we forget that our hands are also exposed to the elements everyday and can be a big give away of our age so i'm loving this product just because it encourages me to take care of my hands.

The L'Oreal Lumi Magique Highlighting Pen is a fairly new discovery for me but its something that i've used pretty much every day since i got it. If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen a picture in early April that i took when i was ill and hungover but i looked surprisingly fresh and it was all down to this product! Considering L'Oreal own YSL its no surprise that this product bears an uncanny resemblance to the legendary Touche Eclat. The only difference i would say is that the formula of this is a little drier but it still blends nicely if you work quickly and it has the exact same highlighting effect as touch Eclat in that its not glittery or shimmery and it doesnt leave a white shadow under the eye but it completely erradicates all of the dark blue and purple tones under the eyes. It also brightens the skin so i have been using it on all the usual places i like to highlight - brow bone, cupids bow etc. For such a reasonable price this is a product that is well worth picking up next time you're in the market for a highlighting concealer.

I've been loving Neal & Wolf  Glow Super Shine Spray in April because for one reason or another i havn't made it to the hairdressers and i am long overdue a trim so my hair isn't looking its best but this product instantly picks it up and makes it look a bit glossier and goes some way to disguising the split ends.
Chanel Chance Eau Tendre is one of my favourite perfumes and as the weather has improved marginally i've put my heavier winter fragrances to one side and i've been reaching for this again. It's such a fresh scent that's perfect for spring/summer, its quite fruity and very feminine but not too sweet. It's quite different to the original Chance i would highly recommend you have a spray next time your in a shop that sells perfume!

Lastly, I have to mention Rituals Energy Bubbles which has been a firm favourite ever since Jim gave it to me for Christmas. I really love Rituals products, they always smell amazing and this fills the bathroom with a gorgeous unique fragrance as well as being very moisturising on the skin and lathering up into masses of bubbles. Its so nice that i've caught Jim using it on several occasions despite the very girly packaging!
What have been your favourites in April?

  3. I absolutely love the lumi magique pen. Although the shade light is a bit toooo light for me and when I swatched medium it was really pink!? I really want to treat myself to Chance too haha, I've sniffed it so many times in Boots, it's so lovely and summery! xx

    1. yeah its an ok colour for me at the moment but im really pale, when the sun comes out it will be way too light. I used to find the Touche eclat was very pink as well until they brought out the range of different shades xx

  4. I adore Chanel Chance, my only gripe with the Eau Tendre is that I don't feel that the scent sticks around for very long. I've also got the Eau de Parfum version, which does last longer, but is much more of a wintery/evening fragrance.
