No 7 Extreme Length Extend Mascara Review

Its been a while since i've written about a mascara and after trying this No 7 Extreme Length Extend Mascara out for the last week or so i thought i'd share my thoughts.
First off, i love the packaging, i love the metallic colour and slightly flared shape. I think No 7 are really upping their game to sit confidently alongside the high end cosmetic ranges in terms of packaging, and for me it makes a product that bit more enjoyable to use if it looks nice!

So what does it do? Well it definitely lives up to its name, the formulation and brush makes this mascara brilliant at emphasising every last millimeter of length you can squeeze from your eyelashes. The wand is a slim plastic one with pointy teeth that are great at separating the lashes and the fibre particles cling on to the ends of the lashes to make them even longer. The colour is ok, I don't find it to be a particularly intense, glossy black but it is ok for use in the daytime when you don't want an overly dramatic look.

This is pretty much where it ends unfortunately. In terms of volume and curl, this mascara does nothing so if this is what you look for in a mascara it won't be for you, unless you use it to lengthen and then use a volumising mascara over the top to thicken. I have been curling my lashes with my Shu Umeura curlers and then wearing a couple of coats of this during the day for a nice natural look but i wouldn't wear it for a night out or a more dramatic eye make up look. It's not the most long lasting either and tends to flake off during the day which is a big bug bear of mine. Overall, im not hugely impressed with this and i think there are much better mascaras out there for the same sort of price.
No 7 is available for Boots and the Extreme Length Extend Mascara retails at £12.95.

Here are a couple of pictures of me wearing it, please excuse the terrible photo quality, i took them with my iphone!

  1. It looks really nice! I have never had much luck with their mascaras; I don't know whether it's the actual mascaras or the women on the counters giving me spider leg lashes because they don't know how to apply it properly.

I might have to check it out and ask to apply it on myself.

  2. It actually looks really cute for daytime wear, but what a shame it doesn't last.
I've been addicted to Max Factor's False Lash Effect mascara for a good few years now! xx
