Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel Review

Hands up who was a Sex and The City fan? Anyone remember the scene when Samantha had to go to Carrie’s book launch party with a veil over her face due to an unfortunate reaction to a chemical peel? I’m pretty sure most of you will know exactly what i'm talking about! Well for that reason, despite being slightly obsessed with skincare, the idea of a chemical peel has never really appealed to me.  That is until I heard about the Murad Environmental Shield Intensive-C Radiance Peel*.
The brand Murad had been on my radar for quite a while after reading great reviews about several of their products and hearing great things about the founder of the brand Dr Howard Murad. He is a certified dermatologist and qualified pharmacist and by all accounts he really knows his stuff when it comes to skincare. He has been hailed as a ‘beauty genius’ by Elle Magazine and ‘best forward thinking doctor’ by Vogue along with winning various awards and personally treating over 50,000 patients! With all that said when I was contacted to see if I would like to try out the Intensive-C Radiance Peel I felt confident enough to put thoughts of Samantha’s burnt looking face to the back of my mind and give it a try.
This Environmental Shield Intensive-C Radiance Peel is an at-home peel that is formulated with glycolic acid to exfoliate the skin and accelerate cell renewal, indian fig and vitamin C to protect against free radical damage and improve skin clarity, and myrtle extract to support collagen production and make skin appear firmer. It's suitable for all skin types and claims to reveal instantly brighter, more youthful looking skin in ten minutes. I have to say after a couple of weeks use i would agree with those claims. You can use it 2-3 times a week and you apply to clean skin, leave for up to ten minutes and then wipe off with a damp face cloth. On application you can really feel the product get to work, it’s not uncomfortable but just a very noticeable tingling feeling, and my skin was noticeably brighter, plumper and looked illuminated after i removed the peel on the first use - no angry red skin in sight!
It gives very similar results to one of my all time favourite products Alpha H Liquid Gold but i feel is a more luxurious product to use and if you have an event or occasion that you want instantly better looking skin for you can use this in ten minutes rather than overnight like the Liquid Gold. It's a lovely product to use, it smells like oranges and is a luxurious thick creamy consistency and it leaves my skin feeling really soft and nourished. I think its safe to say that this has earned a place in my top 3 skin treatments.
I'm really looking forward to seeing how my skin improves in the longer term and i will probably come back and update this review once i have been using the peel regularly for a few months because judging by the immediate results i have seen i'm hopeful it will help to reduce some small hyper pigmentation marks i have and just generally even out my skin tone.
The Intensive-C Radiance Peel retails for £49.50 and is now available from House of Fraser in Leeds as well as in the Oxford Street store. You can also purchase Murad products on-line from with free delivery on all orders.
I'd love to know if any of you have used any Murad products and if you have what you think.

I love the Murad Environmental Shield line. I've had a sample of the radiance peel for a while but haven't tested it yet. Can't wait to try it out after reading your great review.
