Winter Skincare Saviors pic

Winter is well on its way now and the weather up North has become decidedly colder this last week. Because i have Rheumatoid Arthritis i have to be really careful not to get too cold which means i have the heating cranked right up at home and at work i have a little oil filled heater next to my desk, which keeps me
warm but does my skin no favours so i have to ramp up the skincare routine to replace all the lost moisture. These are the things i have been reaching for to help me do that:

My current hand cream of choice is Ortigia Fico D'Indio. It smells like summer holidays to me so it gives me a little lift when i use it because the dark gloomy weather really gets me down. Its really nourishing but absorbs into the skin quickly and leaves no residue so it ticks all the boxes in what i want from a hand cream.

The other product i have been using on my hands is the OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil. It smells incredible and keeps my cuticles hydrated which im making a concerted effort to do because im a nightmare when i get a little rough bit - i cant leave it alone and inevitably make it ten times worse!

I'm still absolutely loving the Aurelia Miracle Cleanser and its perfect for this time of year because its so gentle and nourishing. I follow this with Decleor Aromessence Neroli hydrating facial oil in the evenings. I use this across my cheeks and around my jaw which is where my skin tends to become dehydrated and it really gives that injection of hydration so my skin feels nice and supple in the morning. The other hydration booster that i wouldn't be without at this time of year is the Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Mask. I slap a thick layer of this on in place of my night cream a couple of times a week and my skin feels really nourished the next day and looks bright and glowing.

My favourite body product to add moisture back into the skin and make it appear more supple and smooth is the Elemis Frangipani Monoi Oil. I like to add a few drops to a bath and then for a real skin treat i add a few more drops into my body moisturiser afterwards. My current body moisturiser of choice is the Really Rich Firming Lotion from This Works. It has a lovely figgy fragrance and does exactly what it says on the tin - something i love about This Works products. I like to cover myself in this and then put on a dressing gown while it is all absorbed into the skin.

So with this little dream team on hand i will hopefully avoid dull dehydrated skin throughout the winter months and on the off chance i escape to a tropical destination in the new year i will be ready to bare some skin! (a girls can dream can't she?!)
