Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum First Thoughts

I was recently lucky enough to be sent the Avene Soothing Hydrating Serum (£17.00) from Escentual.com to try out. I've only been using it for a few days so i can't review it on full yet but on first impressions it’s a really lovely serum. If you’re not familiar with Avene, they are a French skincare brand
who formulate all of their products (designed for use on sensitive or irritated skin) using Avene thermal spring water, a unique ingredient that is known for its soothing properties.

The Soothing Hydrating Serum doesn't contain any parabens or skin irritants and is highly concentrated in Avene Thermal spring water, carried in liposomes to ensure optimum diffusion of moisture into the upper layers of the skin, as well as moisturising glycerine to improve the hydration and suppleness of the skin. It’s suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive, and is great for repairing and protecting the sin, I just wish I had had this in my bathroom cabinet through the winter months when my skin suffers the most!

On first impressions the serum has a lovely silky texture that isn't greasy, and my skin just drinks this in with it disappearing pretty much straight away so I can follow on with my other serums/oils and then moisturiser. I'm looking forward to seeing how this effects my skin after being a regular part of my skincare routine for a few weeks and I will report back and let you know but in the meantime if you fancy giving this a try escentual.com have up to an amazing 1/3rd off all of the French Pharmacy brands they carry including Vichy, Nuxe, La Roche-Posey, Klorane,  Caudalie and of course Avene for the whole of March – grab your purses ladies (and gents if you’re reading)!
If you need any inspiration my top picks would be Caudalie Beauty Elixir, Nuxe Crème Fraiche de Beaute Masque, Khorane Mango butter conditioner and Vichy Dermablend foundation. Happy shopping!

Which are your must have French Pharmacy Products? Have you tried this serum from Avene?

My holy grail pharmacy product is the rich moisturizer for intolerant skin from Avene. The french name is "Creme Riche pour peaux intolerantes". My skin used to be itchy and red all the time. This product really saved it. The serum looks to be right up my alley, I'm putting it on my to get list !

That's really interesting, my skin isn't massively sensitive but it shows the brand is good at what they do if it works for your skin :) xx

  6. I have this product but I haven't got round to trying it yet. Sounds good though! I have sensitive skin so hopefully this shouldn't irritate it :)
